The Power of JavaScript Favelets

Posted on January 27th, 2008 in Featured, JavaScript, Tutorials | 4 Comments »

Favelets are bookmarks which contain JavaScript code. The code is used in many forms either for fun purposes or for reducing routine tasks. In present times, you won’t require favelets much since browser’s have got upgraded to include plugins or come with inbuilt features. But still, if you are stuck with a browser which does not have such features or plugin facilities then favelets can be your saviour.

Favelet

A couple of days ago I was in such a situation. I am addicted to Firefox and already have a lot of plugins which increase my productivity. But in those couple of days, I was left with the dreadful Internet Explorer 6.0. Life became more difficult for me when I found myself opening up the Google homepage every time I wanted to search something. I did not have the rights to download the Google toolbar. But since I knew about Favelets I quickly made some and later found that even getting stuck with IE 6.0 did not matter any more.

Impressive Google Chart Generator Scripts

Posted on January 9th, 2008 in Featured, Google, Opinions, Utilities | 1 Comment »

A few days ago, I had written a post that the Google Chart API had a lot of power when you wanted simple and quick results for displaying charts in your website. I had also written a tutorial on how to go about creating a chart. But there was a certain shortcoming in the tutorial. It was tedious. It required you to create lengthy URL’s and also properly format the URL’s to get the chart.

But by the time I had written about the API, I noticed that people were coming up with great new ideas in order to reduce the burden of making the chart. And the ideas are practically impressive and have great scope for improvement.

SCWCD - The 3 Steps to Success!

Posted on July 10th, 2007 in Featured, Java, Java EE, SCWCD, Tutorials | 9 Comments »

After my completion of SCDJWS I had written about the 3 steps to success in SCDJWS which has helped many who were new in the web services domain to help them get prepared and confident about preparing for the big exam! Following the same foot steps I am now presenting in front of you 3 steps to success in SCWCD. I scored a 90+ in the exam and so I take a a pride to provide you the guidance of how to get a 90+

Why are there always 3 Steps to success?

This probably would be the same doubt on the lines of why do we say “Ready…Steady…Go” and also the countdown of a start of a timer in “3..2..1“. Well, the 3 steps are same everywhere, only their definition changes. Similarly I always make it a point to divide my preparation routine into particularly 3 steps to make it sound quicker and much systematic. Finally, its the enthusiasm that counts that you put in each of the steps.

Stop all that blabber… How do I go about preparing for SCWCD?

Okay..okay. SCWCD (exam code - CX 310 081) is aimed particularly for the web developers and it takes into consideration that you must have developed web applications in the past and now want to try out with JSP/ Servlets. So there wont be any questions about how and what are the intricacies dealing with what a web application is, but concentrates on how would you build web applications using the web components that SUN provides.
