Great find about Microsoft live site . But I think PNG is not recognised in IE6, just like in Firefox . We will see some white spaces instead .

That will work for the slowness of site, what if your site goes down and you are not aware? A site works for that purpose and keeps track of the site all the time, and informs you when it goes down.
