I am looking to generate a graph similar to Google Finance stock graph. Is it a good idea to go ahead with Javascript and AJAX or is there a better alternative available. How feasible would the Google Chart API be to produce a chart/graph with the detailing and responsiveness of the Google Finance graphs?

I like the idea of having a ready to use API but am not sure whether it will be able to deliver the detailing of the Google Finance graphs. Are there any specific drawbacks to using Javascript and AJAX for graph generation?
